Accent Reduction
Work to reduce the accent of non-native speakers is not always considered therapy. Therefore, it may not be covered by insurance, which is usually limited to medical speech-language services. Still, an accent can reduce intelligibility and limit the speaker's ability to communicate appropriately.
A sample screening test is used to determine whether an individual is likely to benefit from speech exercises. Computerized feedback is used to improve intelligibility for speakers of many languages and dialects.
Fees are reduced from standard therapy charges.
